Summer Lourdes Pilgrimage
If you are in school year 10 or above, come and join the Brentwood Catholic Youth Service on our hugely popular Summer Lourdes Pilgrimage. We travel alongside the Diocese to assist the elderly and infirm on their annual pilgrimage, particularly those in wheelchairs.
Alongside this we also run a retreat, daily Masses and excursions for the young people, as well as experiencing the Lourdes Torchlight Procession and Blessed Sacrament Procession. Applications will be open from the evening of Sunday 21st October and will remain open until 31st January 2019. These can be made at www.bcys.net/events where you will also find more information about the trip. Likely travel dates will be 20th - 27th July 2019.
Sea of Voices Concert
The Parish’s Community choir is giving a concert. We haven’t chosen the charity yet so please propose something local.
We would also welcome anyone in the Parish who would like to join in with our concert, either singing a solo or playing an instrument, etc along with any donations for a raffle or help serving teas and coffees on the night.
Please contact Darrell on 07825686249 if you can help or would like to participate.

School Admission Forms for Primary and Secondary Schools
Parents wishing to apply to Catholic Schools for the next academic year are required to obtain a Letter of Catholic Practise from their Parish Priest. This must be requested from your Parish Priest in person and only one per child will be issued. Please come to the Parish Centre for these on
6-8pm Wednesday 10 October
6-7pm Wednesday 17 October
These are issued only to practising Catholics (those who attend weekly Mass). Furthermore, this practise of the Faith will be viewed over a period of time and not just the weeks prior to an application. Parish Priests may also look at the date of Baptism, noting those children who have been Baptised soon after birth as compared to those Baptised with proximity to school age. This is a matter of justice to all involved in applying for places in our Schools. Our schools are often oversubscribed and in order to be fair, preference will justly be given to those who live and practise the Faith as well as who contribute to the life of the Church through the various ways in which that support is given. If you are not a practising Catholic this Certificate will not be given; you may still apply to a Catholic School but your application will considered under another category for Admissions.
Journey of Faith (Divine Revelation)
Journey of Faith (RCIA)
A series of informal talks, designed to give an insight into the teachings and traditions of the Catholic church, continues on Monday.
You are welcome to attend some or all of these talks; if you would like more information please speak to Fr Kevin.

CAFOD Family Harvest Fast Day
2.6 billion people in the developing world have gained access to safe drinking water since 1990, but a further estimated 844 million still have no access to clean drinking water and 841 million have to make at least a 30 minute round trip to find safe water.
With this Harvest Fast Day, Cafod will make safe drinking water more available to our brothers and sisters in countries such as Uganda. Cafod asks whether you can eat more simply on 5 October and the money you save could help to mend or install a water point for an entire village: a wonderful way of acting out our faith.
Gift aid envelopes are at the back of the church for those who wish to contribute, along with more information about the work of Cafod. Thank you for your continued help and prayers.
