Reception into the Church
During the 11.30am Mass this Sunday, those wishing to be received into the Church will be presented with copies of the Lord’s Prayer. They need our continued support in prayer as we approach Easter.

ABC - About Being Catholic
The series of informal talks designed to give an insight into the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church will continue starting at 8pm in the Parish Centre. 23rd March - The Triduum. The Scripture Group will be re-starting after Easter, with Fr Con Joyce, on Thursday 16th April in the Parish Centre - 8pm to 9pm.
CWL
The CWL warmly invite you to join us for an afternoon talk on Archaeology given by one of our own parishioners, Rosemary Arscott. Rosemary will be speaking from her own experiences, which will be accompanied by slides. Please join us in the Newman Room in the Parish Centre from 2pm. Tea and Coffee will be served.

This will begin—for those who have requested this Sacrament—on Sunday 12th April at 6.30pm in the Parish Centre and conclude by 8pm; it will run for six weeks.

Fourth Sunday in Lent - Laetare
Dear friends in Christ
This half-way Sunday of Lent bids us be joyful as we consider Jesus approaching Jerusalem where He will be lifted-up on the Cross. Why does the Church sing Rejoice, O Jerusalem on this particular Sunday? It is because we are supposed to see everything to do with Christ’s suffering, and our participation in it, as something life-giving and therefore joyful. It has been said by the Saints that the Christian vocation has its roots in the form of the Cross. This is because we can never follow Christ and expect a comfortable, care-free existence. The particular penances and mortifications of this sacred season are themselves reminders that by voluntarily taking upon ourselves self-denial, we can identify with Christ in His own self-offering for our sins.
Please continue to pray for those who are preparing for the Sacraments this Easter; it is an exciting time for them and their families as they undergo the last part of their spiritual training for the moment when they will encounter Jesus personally in the Church through His Sacraments. May God bless us all in our efforts to live these last weeks of Lent in a spirit of joyful union with Christ in his Passion. God bless you!

Stephen Fontana who died on Saturday, 28th February. His body will be received into the Church at 5pm on Thursday, 26th March and his Requiem Mass will take place on Friday 27th March at 2pm followed by committal at Southend Crematorium.
Gift Aid Envelopes
New boxes of envelopes for those in the Gift Aid Scheme will be available for collection this weekend 14th/15th March. If you wish to gift aid your weekly offering by using envelopes, please complete a Gift Aid form, available at the back of Church, and either hand it in to the Parish office or place it in the offertory collection. You will then receive a box of envelopes for your weekly donation.
