Benefits for us

The Brentwood Diocesan Trust is Charity number 234092. As a charity, the government offers us a tax benefit… Gift Aid is a refund of basic rate tax, currently at 20%—we can reclaim 25 pence for each £1 you donate.

Benefits for you

Higher rate taxpayers can claim back the difference between basic rate and higher rate tax. If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you can claim tax relief in your self-assessment tax return.

What can be gift-aided?

Gift Aid can include all the donations you make:

  • Your weekly offertory

  • Second collections

  • Christmas and Easter Offerings

  • Special appeals and any other one-off donations

Envelopes

Your Parish Gift Aid Organiser Allan Long will give you a box of envelopes with your personal number on the envelopes, for donations made in cash or by cheque.

Special appeals and one-off donations

You can find all-purpose, blank envelopes at the back of the church for one-off occasions, such as special appeals or disaster fund. You can also use these envelopes for a normal collection if you forgot your own. Please quote your personal envelope number when you use them, or your name and address.

Standing order

Standing order is the best way to donate, for us. We can claim Gift Aid on your standing order, if you choose. Please fill in the Standing Order Enquiry form by using the Donate page button on the Parish website and we will be in touch with the Bank details.

Alternatively you can find a Standing Order Mandate form at the back of the Church

Online donation

If you make a donation to us online, you can choose for the donation to be Gift Aided while donating.
