Serving the Homeless
Thank you so much for your very generous donations in January to ’Serving the Homeless.’ A total of £1,706.62 was collected after the masses and by private donation. All of this money will be used to continue the work that we are doing with HARP, Southend YMCA and The Churches Night Shelters. You make it possible for lives to be transformed.
Our annual AGM will be held on Monday 7th March at 7.30pm at St Margaret’s Church Hall, Lime Avenue. Leigh. Please come along to support us and learn more about what we do. New Committee members are always welcome!
Lenten Lunches
You are warmly invited to join in the Friday Lenten Lunches. Lunches will be on the Fridays of Lent from 12.30pm in the Parish Centre, the last lunch being the 18th March. A contribution of £4.50 will include homemade soup, rolls, cheese, fruit, tea or coffee. This year all proceeds will be sent to Fr Dominic Howarth’s Calais Refugees’ Project.
Scripture Group
Fr Con Joyce’s Scripture Group will meet in the Parish Centre 8pm-9pm this Thursday, 25th February. These meetings are held to give us a better understanding of the Bible, to encourage us to read it and so help us to come closer to Jesus in our daily lives as Christians. All welcome.

Friday Film Night
Following on from the successful fund-raising evening in January, the next Friday Film Night will be on Friday March 4th at 7.30pm in the Gilbert Room when the Live Simply Group invite you to watch The Way while raising money for Fr Dominic and the Calais Refugees. Refreshments will be on sale. Keep the date free!

Carmelite Meeting
The next meeting is on Saturday 27th February in the Newman Room when our Provincial Delegate, John Berry, will be visiting us. We will be starting at
12 Noon with a shared lunch followed by our meeting, ending at 4.00pm. Do come and join us, all are welcome for all or part of the time, come and see what we get up to.
Gift Aid Envelopes
New boxes of envelopes for those in the Gift Aid Scheme will be available for collection on 5th/6th and 12th/13th March. If you wish to gift aid your weekly offering by using envelopes, please complete a Gift Aid Form, available at the back of Church, and either hand it in to the Parish office or place it in the offertory collection. You will then receive a box of envelopes for your weekly collection.
Catholic Women’s League
The next meeting of the CWL is on Monday, 22 February at 2pm in the Newman Room. Girls please bring your favourite cake and fancies recipes with you.
Bollywood Night – an exotic Night to Remember
The Knights of Saint Columba present a celebration of Indian culture through food, film and music. The evening will include a sensational raffle, the top prize a 42" Toshiba TV. The evening is in aid of the Knights of Saint Columba and our chosen partners – MISSIO; Nazareth House and B.E.E.F. (Brentwood Ecclesiastical Education Fund).
