Community Choir for the Parish?
There has been some favourable reaction from parish friends about forming our own Parish community choir based at the Parish Centre.  This would be a fun, social activity for those who enjoy singing, or would love the chance to sing songs that choirs perform (popular, rock, gospel, etc.) No auditions or prima donnas – this is about people enjoying singing!
We could find our own ‘Gareth Malone’ (Male or Female!) experienced in choir direction; musicians who would like to provide musical accompaniment and any parishioner who has a keyboard that we could borrow or have.  Someone interested in assisting in music direction of a choir has already contacted me, along with two singers already, so now I need expressions of interest from parishioners to get things moving! Supporters who can help with the ‘back room’ admin – websites, publicity, etc. also welcome!
There would be a small joining fee and weekly subs on attendance, for an agreed day/time each week to fund costs e.g. sheet music and lyrics etc.  I also expect we would occasionally perform public performances - when we are ready! – to raise funds for charity etc.  If you are interested (or know someone who is) – young and old (15 years upwards) -  please send name/contact details and your interest (singing, music, instruments etc.) to me and a meeting will be held in late April/early May to discuss what’s happening and when we can start!
Contact me by email at manybindings@hotmail.co.uk; ring 07825686249 or leave a message at the parish office addressed to Darrell/Community Choir.  Please, don’t be shy! Let’s have some fun and build a community of music that does some good for everyone! Thank you! Darrell Binding
