Annual Flower & Craft Show 5th July—11am to 4pm
Please bring family, friends and neighbours to visit our beautiful church on Saturday 5th July for our Flower and Craft display, and to show support for all those who are taking part. This is a chance to open ourselves up to our wider community, some of whom have never been into a church before.
The theme this year is God’s creation, from the hymn,
‘O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy hand has made.’
We are also celebrating the opening of our church building 100 years ago this year.
Refreshments will be available from 11.00am in the parish centre.
Donations of flowers can be made on Thursday or Friday morning and left in the old baptistry.
Help on the day would also be appreciated to ensure that there are always people in the church to welcome visitors and to answer questions.

Quiz Night Saturday, 5th July in the Parish Centre
Hello everyone! If you are a fan of quiz nights, today is your lucky day! The young people from OLOL Parish going to Lourdes this year with BCYS (Brentwood Catholic Youth Service) are fundraising for their pilgrimage.
They go as volunteers to support the sick and elderly of the Parish/Diocese. They provide practical support pushing wheelchairs and spend time enjoying their company. The young people learn a great deal about serving others, as well as spending time deepening their own faith.
As the young people need to pay for their own transportation and accommodation, there will be a fundraising quiz on Saturday 5th July at our Lady of Lourdes Parish Centre, starting at 7.15pm. Tickets are £5 per person (bring your own drink and nibbles), with a maximum of 8 people per table. Tickets will be available at the back of church after all Masses and also from the Parish Office, Monday to Friday 9am—1pm.
Raffle donations will be gratefully accepted on the evening, or may be left at the back of church beforehand if you cannot attend.
Hope to see you there!
OLOL Brentwood Youth Team

The Most Holy Trinity
Dear friends in Christ
The central dogma and mystery of the Christian Faith is the Blessed Trinity—God is three Persons, equal in divinity, united as God.
Dear friends in Christ
The central dogma and mystery of the Christian Faith is the Blessed Trinity—God is three Persons, equal in divinity, united as God. This is the most fundamental of all the doctrines of the Christian Faith and it distinguishes Christians from all others who hold diverse theories about God. Because this is such a rudimentary tenet of our Faith, we begin and end everything we do and say by the invocation of the Trinity: In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In this way, we situate all we are and do within the very life of God Himself. This includes the Mass, all of the Sacraments, all our work, and the way we should begin and end each day—in the name of The Trinity. How do we know that God is a Trinity of Persons? Because God Himself in Jesus Christ has revealed this to us: The Father and I are one…I am going to the Father and will send you the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who will teach you everything. This is how we know that we approach God as a Trinity of Persons, undivided in majesty, equal in glory.
Next weekend is the beautiful Solemnity of Corpus Christi—The Body and Blood of Christ. This feast celebrates the love of God for us made concrete in the Blessed Eucharist, His Presence with us on earth until the end of time. Cardinal William Allen, founder of the English College, Douai, my alma mater, would say that the Eucharist is the love knot between Christ and His Church: Christ is the bridegroom and the Church is His bride; the Holy Eucharist is the bond that unites them. This is a beautiful analogy of what happens at Mass and how this Real Presence of Jesus continues even outside of the Mass so that we can have The Lord present in all of our Catholic Churches for our adoration and consolation. For centuries the Church has celebrated this feast with Processions and Benedictions of the Blessed Sacrament—a public way of acknowledging what is most central and precious in our Catholic Faith. Our Holy Father Pope Leo, does this in the City of Rome too. Next Sunday let us join in this Procession which begins at 4pm in the Church, and again reclaim the streets of our Town for Our Blessed Lord.
God bless you!

We pray for the sick of our parish
“Father,
by the power of your Spirit
you have filled the hearts of your faithful people
with gifts of love for one another.
Hear the prayers we offer for our relatives and friends.
Give them health of mind and body
that they may do your will with perfect love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.”
