We pray for our sick

The Sick List is available on the website main menu, under Worship.

We pray for the sick of our parish

Father,
by the power of your Spirit
you have filled the hearts of your faithful people
with gifts of love for one another.
Hear the prayers we offer for our relatives and friends.
Give them health of mind and body
that they may do your will with perfect love.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
— Roman Missal: For relatives and friends

Friends of the Holy Land

We are very grateful to Edmund Adamus for speaking in the Parish last weekend about the plight of our bothers and sisters in the Holy Land. The suffering and persecution which they are enduring is truly shocking and we keep them much in our prayers. Thanks to the charity of the Parish Family we have been able to donate at least £2,688 to support the world of the Friends of the Holy Land. You can find more information and ways to support this work from the link here: friendsoftheholyland.org.uk

National Marriage Week

National Marriage Week this year is Saturday 7th—Saturday 14th February, 2026. A Christian marriage is rooted in faith; that means faith in God, as the giver of life and the one who promises eternal life to those who believe in him. The Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales has launched a series of resources for National Marriage Week.

Please pray for all those living out the vocation to marriage and couples preparing to marry. Support is available for those who need it, and your parish priest can point you in the right direction. If you are celebrating a significant anniversary this year, please let your fr Kevin know so that you can be invited to the Mass of Thanksgiving in the Cathedral on Saturday 11th July.

Here is a simple prayer of thanksgiving for the vocation to marriage:

God our Father,
We pray in thanksgiving for the vocation to marriage
And for each couple that you join together
in order to make a family.
We ask that every marriage brings each couple
closer to you and closer to holiness.
We pray for those who are struggling
in their marriage at present,
That they can make it through this tough time
And support each other in their differences.
We make this prayer through Christ, your Son, our Lord.
Amen.
