During the 11.30am Mass this Sunday, those wishing to be received into the church will be presented with copies of the Lord’s Prayer. They need our continued support in prayer as we approach Easter.
Lenten Lunches
Lunches are held on the Fridays of Lent from 12.30pm in the Parish Centre, the last lunch will be this Friday, 7th April. A contribution of £5 will include homemade soup, rolls, cheese, fruit, tea or coffee. This year all proceeds will be divided between Southend YMCA Children's Project and Southend Women's Refuge.

There is to be a Mass to celebrate the life and contribution to St Bernard’s School of Sister Mary Stephen who passed away in January 2017. It will be held at St Bernard's, Westcliff on Saturday 7th October at 11.30am followed by refreshments.

This refers particularly to those who are under instruction for admission into the Church at Easter through Baptism, Confirmation and The Holy Eucharist. The Gospels of this Sunday resonate with the virtue of Faith and eternal life: last week the Samaritan Woman at the Well is invited to believe in Christ so that she might have water welling-up within her: Baptism.
Dear Friends in Christ

This refers particularly to those who are under instruction for admission into the Church at Easter through Baptism, Confirmation and The Holy Eucharist. The Gospels of this Sunday resonate with the virtue of Faith and eternal life: last week the Samaritan Woman at the Well is invited to believe in Christ so that she might have water welling-up within her: Baptism. This weekend the cure of the Man Born Blind reminds us that all of the miracles of Jesus point to a spiritual, deeper meaning. In the case of this man being given his sight, we see that the eyes of his soul are also opened so that he may see The Saviour. Many thousands, even in our own country are preparing in these weeks of lent for Reception into the Church. Some of them are Baptised already and therefore belong to Christ; but by Confirmation and Holy Communion they will enter into the the fullness of Church life with us. Pray for them and their Sponsors - eight from our own Parish Family - that they may continue in these days of purification and enlightenment, for the life of grace that awaits them.
May God bless us all as we reach the mid-way point of Lent.

Serving the Homeless Talk by Jo Ronan
Jo Ronan has kindly agreed to come to the CWL Social Meeting on Monday, 27th March to talk to us about the works undertaken by 'Serving the Homeless', which is an interdenominational project representing the congregations of six local churches. Please come along and support Jo on the 27th. Tea and cake will be supplied and entry is free. A collection will be be taken up at the end to contribute to their works.

Social Committee News
St Patricks Night celebration. Following a fantastic evening at the Parish Centre with live music from Merv and Maria and some great dancing from guest Irish dancers, the event made £214.50 profit which has been donated to the Church. Many thanks to everyone who came to make it such a memorable evening and to the organisers Phyllis Sadowski, Darrell Binding, Marian Long and Irene Jones.
Margueriteville Country Music Club. Next gig at St James’s in Elmsleigh Drive with Tennessee Rebel is Saturday 25th March.
Sea of Voices Choir. Now returned to Wednesday Evenings at the Parish Centre (not during holy week). New singers very welcome! If you wish to gift aid your weekly offering by using envelopes, please complete a Gift Aid Form, available at the back of Church, and either hand it in to the Parish office or place it in the offertory collection. You will then receive a box of envelopes for your weekly collection.
