BIN A TIN FOR VIN
The St Vincent Centre is doing wonderful work in Southend helping the poorest amongst us.
You can help the food bank there by bringing a tin of something with you when you come to mass and putting it in VINNIE'S BIN, which will be in the OLD BAPTISTERY.
This will be emptied twice weekly.

SUPPORT RICHARD'S CAMINO WALK FOR ST VINCENT'S CENTRE
Between 3rd and 10th June 2023, I am walking the last leg of the Camino Portuguese, a distance of 120km, to raise much needed funds for the St Vincent’s Centre, Southend.
On this pilgrimage I will be carrying my own luggage and sleeping in hostels along the way. I won’t be doing it alone, I will be part of a group comprising Seminarians and prospective Deacons of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Please be as generous as you can. All the money raised will go directly to the St Vincent’s Centre which is a community hub supporting the most vulnerable people in the local area.
Thank you for your support.

Brentwood Diocese Initiative - Laudato Si' (our Common Home)
Bishop Alan has launched a Diocesan initiative based on the Pope's Encyclical Laudato Si', caring for our Common Home and its people. He is encouraging every Parish to become engaged in his vision. He asks us to think about issues such as; the environment, the homeless, those hungry/food waste and refugees. God asked us to be 'stewards' of this place he gave us to live in and share its resources fairly and justly, caring for all our brothers and sisters.
The Bishop asks us to work with and support the work of Caritas International that has 162 Catholic relief, development and social service organisations operating in over 200 countries. As you have seen in the bulletin already, Caritas are holding a Networking Day on 10th June in Upminster.
Fr. Kevin has asked me to be the Parish representative for this initiative, but I cannot do this alone. If you are interested in any or all of these social issues and would like to get involved (or find out more) please contact me - I would very much value help and ideas to move this initiative forward.
