Dementia Awareness Week

Do you know someone that has been affected by dementia?

As part of national Dementia Awareness week, Age Concern Southend will be holding a Dementia Awareness Open Day on May 18th 2022 from 1pm-4pm.  They would like to welcome you to the Haven Community Hub to visit a range of stalls that can help those living with dementia and their loved ones.

They will be running an afternoon full of activities and information which encourage people to take action to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.  They hope that those living with dementia and their Carers will be able to access support and practical advice, as well as see a wide range of services that are available to them.

They will be holding taster classes of some of our dementia specific activities as well as workshops on how to support a loved one with dementia, dementia friends, health checks and how to access practical support.
They will also have guided tours of the specialist dementia Day Centre and a performance from the dementia choir.
