2.6 billion people in the developing world have gained access to safe drinking water since 1990, but a further estimated 844 million still have no access to clean drinking water and 841 million have to make at least a 30minute round trip to find safe water. Through this Harvest Fast Day, Cafod is seeking to improve further the availability of safe drinking water for our brothers and sisters in countries such as Uganda. Cafod asks whether you can eat more simply on 5 October and the money you save could help to mend or install a water point for an entire village: a wonderful way of acting out our faith.
