Reading at Weekend Masses
"Christ is always present in his word since it is he himself who speaks when the holy scriptures are read in the Church" [Second Vatican Council]. With the new Lectionary being a fresh chance to hear Christ speaking to us, bringing us together with others, now could be an opportunity to use your talents to read at Mass?
Readers at weekend Masses generally read in pairs every 4 or 5 weeks, and are only rostered to read at the Mass they normally attend. Rotas are flexible so you can always swap if something comes up and you are unable to read on a weekend. The opportunity to read is available to both children and adults. Training / practice are available if you've not read before or are returning to reading.
If you're interested, please contact Jackie Sullens (j.sullens@btinternet.com) who'll be happy to explain what's involved and to arrange some practice so you can consider further whether you'd like to join our group of readers. Thank you.

OLOL Ladies Group
To all Ladies in the Parish, our next Meeting for the New Year is in the Parish Centre on Thursday 16th January. This will be a relaxed social morning with a selection of Board games, or sharing news, books or just catching up with friends old and new following our Christmas break. Amazingly we will be celebrating our 7th year of the Ladies Group (where has the time gone? ) We always welcome new members with subs still only £1 per Meeting.
For any Ladies out there who are interested, please just come along and introduce yourself. We try to keep the Group as informal as possible so there is no form filling, and ladies are free to join us as and when they wish.
On behalf of Cynthia, Jan, Jo and Jane we wish you a very happy , peaceful and healthy New Year !!
Parking
When using the courtyard of the Parish Centre, please use ONLY the designated parking bays, and NEVER park in front of the church door; this is for the convenience and safety of others.
Thank You from Fr Selvini
I would like to say "Thank you very much" to all those parishioners who sent Christmas greetings and gave Christmas gifts this Christmas. Your generosity is much appreciated! I wish you all, and your loved ones near or far, a very happy and holy year 2025.
