Be my protector, O God, a mighty stronghold to save me. For you are my rock, my stronghold...we pray in the Entrance Antiphon of the Mass this Sunday.
Dear friends in Christ
The Gospel of the Mass his weekend relates the preaching of Jesus by the shores of Lake Gennesaret, the miraculous catch of fish and the call of the Twelve Apostles.

Our next Meeting is on Thursday 4th July at the usual time of 10am. New members are always welcome with subs still at £1 .
Next week we are very pleased to welcome back Father Jeanne-Claude Selvini who has very kindly agreed to give us a talk. This will be “A potted history of the Catholic Church in England”, which should prove to be a very interesting topic and food for thought! We would appreciate it if ladies could be on time, given Fr. Selvini’s busy schedule.
NB: This will be the last week for ladies to book a place on our end of term lunch, cost just £8. If you haven’t been able to come to Meetings recently, no problem just please remember to book a place to avoid disappointment.
Thank you to everyone who has agreed to take part in this year's Flower and Craft Festival. We now need all of you to support us by coming on Saturday 6th and bringing friends, neighbours and family to our beautiful Church. The theme is Prayer and everyone will find something that speaks to them, especially perhaps those who do not have any religious background. As always there will be free refreshments provided by some of our parishioners in the Parish Centre, with any donations going to HARP.
We would appreciate any donations of flowers on Friday 5th when we will be putting the displays together.
Please do try to make an effort to come along and appreciate the music, crafts and flowers that our parishioners have been creating.

Fr Kevin would be pleased to hear from any couples who are celebrating significant anniversaries this year (25, 40, 50, 60 years) so that they can be invited to the Mass celebrating Marriage and Family Life in Brentwood Cathedral in July,
As you know, the UK general election is fast-approaching and those standing will want our votes.
We have a responsibility as Catholics, to ensure that parties commit to tackling issues such as upholding the sanctity of life for the most vulnerable in our society.
Raising our voices and contacting parliamentary candidates as a parish community will send a strong signal to them.
The Prolife Charity, SPUC has created a simplified process to equip Catholics to contact their parliamentary candidates .
Please see https://www.spuc.org.uk/valueyourvote for more information.
You just enter your postcode to find out who your candidates are, and a template email appears for you to send to them.
The threat of decriminalising abortion was averted in this Parliament but will soon return in the next.
There is also expected to be a big push to legalise assisted suicide as well.
It is vital for us as Catholic to use our vote to stand up for the most vulnerable in our society and to elect pro-life MPs.
I have received the Summer 2024 edition of he Missio. If you have not received one personally from me please take one from the back of the Church (on the ledge at the back usual place). If anyone has a box needing emptying please give to me or leave in the Office and I will pick it up. Please don't to forget to take your boxes back from the back of the Church after.
Thank you.
Joan Caunce, Secretary, 01268 757505.
Our next Fairtrade sale will be in the Parish Centre on Sunday 7th July - 8.30am-11.30am. Thank you to everyone who supported us last month, we raised £206.50. This is the last sale before the summer break so come and stock up on your favourite items.
Feel free to come in before or after Mass and have a coffee and a chat. We look forward to seeing you.
